As Shirley Anne Cummings, only daughter of Ernest Alfred Cummings (1899-1990) and his wife Doris L. Sumner, who married at Hendon in 1936. Shirley was educated at Ealing Grammar School and was of 5 Whitton Close, Ealing, Middlesex when she married at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Ruislip on 16 October 1965, Paul Michael Brigginshaw (born 1942) only son of R. R. Brigginshaw. Shirley Brigginshaw exhibited her works from Woodbridge, Suffolk at the Frame Workshop & Gallery in Ipswich.
