SUGDEN, Jacqueline
Jacqueline Sugden trained at the Curwen Print Study Centre and at Gainsborough's House Print Workshop, and seeks to develop her understanding of the relationship between ink, paper, press and artist. Based in the farming heartland of mid-Suffolk, but often to be found on the moors of Scotland’s Lowther Hills or along the Galloway coast, Jacqueline is interested in creating pieces of work that fluidly evolve. Primarily a printmaker inspired by her rich surroundings and is interested in exploring the historical scars of human interaction within these landscapes alongside the natural processes that develop around them, she encompasses a non-restrictive experimental approach, that respect and challenge traditional methods of printmaking. She exhibits with Echo Arts and when not in her Stowmarket studio she spends most of her time outdoors with her numerous dogs, documenting the landscape through drawing and photography.
