LINGARD, Enid
As Enid Nora Argile, she was born at Oystermouth, Glamorgan on 22 May 1919 and baptised at Oystermouth on 20 July 1919, eldest of the two children of Thomas Evans Argile (4 December 1881-15 July 1966), a chief commercial manager, London, Midland Scottish Railways, and his wife Ethel Norah Mayou (18 March 1892-23 June 1974), eldest daughter of George Herbert Mayou, who married at Oystermouth Parish Church, Glamorgan on 20 September 1917. In 1921 Enid was living at 86 King's Road, Harrogate, Yorkshire with her parents and sibling. In 1939 Enid was a domestic science student living at 3 The Avenue, Harrow, Middlesex with her parents and her younger brother Thomas Jeffrey. Enid married at Harrow on 29 March 1946, Peter Anthony Lingard (29 February 1916-15 February 2003) and they lived at The Dumble, High Street, Orford, Woodbridge, Suffolk. An amateur watercolour artist Enid Nora Lingard died on 9 February 2002.
