LEVERITT, Tom
Thomas Michael James Leveritt was born in January 1976, son of Thomas Michael Christopher Leveritt (born 1947) and was raised in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 8, young Thomas went to boarding school in North Norfolk and, aged 13, won a scholarship to Harrow School. He then studied history at Peterhouse, Cambridge graduating with a first-class degree in 1997. An Army Scholarship into the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards and a Queen Mother Bar Scholarship to Middle Temple and became an artist. He received the Carroll Medal for Portraiture from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Somerset Maugham Award for Literature, and the Betty Trask Award for a first novel. He exhibited at the BP Award at the National Portrait Gallery; the Royal Society of Portrait Painters; the Royal Institute of Oil Painters; Arteast, and elsewhere. The author of 'The Exchange-rate between Love and Money' (2008) and has written screenplays. Tom lives in Lowestoft, Suffolk and accepts commissions to paint portraits.
