NORWICH AND EASTERN COUNTIES INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION
The Norwich and Eastern Counties Working Classes' Industrial Exhibition was proposed in December 1866 and their inaugural meeting was held on 15 August 1867 when the [1st] Earl of Kimberley made a speech, and the first exhibition was opened by the Mayor, Frederick Elwin Watson, at St Andrew's Hall, Norwich when Emma Sandys (1843-1877) and John Middleton were exhibitors. A second exhibition was held at the same venue in 1871 and it was not until 1892 that a similarly named Eastern Counties Trades and Industrial Exhibition is noted as being held at the Drill Hall, Norwich from 11 December 1892.
