ROBERTSON, Hamilton Campbell
As Hamilton Campbell Barclay, she was born at Auldearn, Nairn, Scotland on 2 February 1850, daughter of William Barclay and his wife Hamilton Campbell née Souter. Hamilton married in Scotland in 1877, artist Henry Robertson and in 1881 they were living at 17 Burlington Road, Ipswich with a newly born son Marcus, who was born at Gosport, Hampshire but died later in 1881. By 1883 they were living at 21 Burlington Road, Ipswich. An honorary member of the Ipswich Fine Art Club 1884-1887 from 21 Burlington Road, Ipswich and although listed as an exhibitor had nothing on display. In 1891, a 41-year-old, living at 102 Christchurch Street, Ipswich with her 42-year-old husband Henry and three children, Ludovic 9, Pauline 6 and Oliver Hope 1, all born at Ipswich and about 1900 they moved to 71 Thorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk but by 1911 they had moved to Redcot, Linton Road, Hastings, Sussex. Hamilton Campbell Robertson died at 10 Sedlescombe Road, St Leonards-on-sea, Hastings, Sussex on 8 September 1922, aged 72.
