As Julie Smith, she married at Bromley, Kent, Andrew Whalesby and paints as Julie Whalesby. After leaving her position in the NHS and moving to the village of Kirton with her husband, life took a creative turn. Julie is now a watercolour artist based at Kirton, near Ipswich and what began as painting pet portraits soon grew into a passion for loose, expressive art filled with colour, freedom and emotion. Jules Art has grown into a thriving successful small business and now also runs welcoming workshops where people can escape perfection, experiment fearlessly and rediscover their creativity, no experience is needed, just a willingness to explore and enjoy relaxing with art. Working in watercolours, Julie is a pet portrait specialist and is often found travelling around Suffolk attending county fairs and events. Creating a commission for a client will show the heart and soul of the subject and the true colours of their personality so that they can be treasured and enjoyed for years to come as a painting in the home.
