KING, Anya
Anya Ruth King was born in Ipswich in 1969. She grew up during the 1980s being inspired by the artistic atmosphere of those times with growing global capitalism, political upheaval, worldwide mass media, wealth discrepancies and distinctive music and fashion, characterised by hip hop and electronic pop music which had a strong impact on the generation of artists growing up during this decade. She studied at Norwich School of Art graduating B.A. (hons) and a postgraduate at the Royal Academy Schools 1990-1993. She has exhibited at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold and elsewhere. Anya has her studio at 5 Kennedy Avenue, Halesworth, Suffolk from where she teaches and takes commissions.
