HOLLINGSWORTH, Ali
Alison Jane Hollingsworth was born in Cornwall in 1959. Ali, as she is known, is a self-taught country-loving artist who likes to use fabric or paint to express her creative ideas having used both mediums since early childhood. Her paintings are contemporary colourful landscapes, and her textile work takes the form of art-dolls or art creatures that evoke memories of a childhood past, or a story conveyed. Her painting heroes are 20th century artists such as John Piper and she takes inspiration for her art-dolls from Mr Finch and Pale Rook. A former member of the Stone Eye Group, her work is in many private collections, including The National Trust. She is also a member of Ipswich Art Society and of Suffolk Open Studios from Hackney Road Studio, 1 Leeks Hill Villas, Hackney Road, Melton, Woodbridge.
