NOAD, Caryn
As Caryn J. Coleman she married in Suffolk in 2002, David C. Noad and works as Caryn Noad. Caryn studied print, design, and photography when she became particularly interested in typography which led her to calligraphy and the art of illumination. Forming letters with a dip pen and ink gave her an understanding of the elegance of letters. Her first creative employment after college was making wizards in pottery but eventually ended up running a signwriting business for several years then moved into graphic design. After living in the hills of the Cotswolds, the fells of Lancashire, and near the coast of Cornwall her family settled in Suffolk next to the Stour River. When the company she works for closed at the end of 2018 Caryn concentrated on her art full time. Caryn works in watercolour, pen and charcoal and appreciates colour and greyscale equally and enjoys the diversity of using both in her art. She draws inspiration from her love of travel as well as her local surroundings, the subjects determine the materials she uses which can create interesting and sometime unpredictable results. Caryn is a member of the Suffolk Art Society also a member of the Suffolk Open Studios from 9 Corporal Lille Close, Sudbury, Suffolk.
