MOORE, Brenda
As Audrey Brenda Moore, she was born at Hendon, Middlesex on 22 March 1909, daughter of John Charles Moore and his wife Florence Isabel née Wyatt, who married at Hendon in 1900. In 1911 Brenda, as she was known, was a 2-year-old, living at 53 Radnor Road, Wealdstone, Pinner, Middlesex with her parents 36-year-old John Charles Moore, a representative for an engineering firm, and 33-year-old Florence Isabel and Brenda's siblings, Kathleen Doris 9, Eric Desmond 7 and a newly born unnamed daughter. Audrey Brenda was living at Flat E, 5 Lewes Crescent, Brighton 1930-1931 with her mother Isabel Florence and sibling sister Kathleen Doris. A student at the Royal Academy Schools and, as Audrey Brenda Moore, she married at Hampstead Registry Office on 1 June 1935 as his second wife, 60-year-old Leonard Campbell Taylor, who was one of her tutors at the Royal Academy, from when she was also known as Brenda Campbell Taylor but continued to paint as Brenda Moore. They lived at Eastgate Hall, Felsham, Suffolk for many years. Brenda Campbell Taylor died at Pampisford Mill, Cambridge in 1995.
