BURGESS, Shaun
Shaun Edward Burgess was born at Ipswich in 1968, second child of Edward James William Burgess (born 1936) and his wife Gillian E. née Chisnall, who married at Ipswich in 1961. Shaun married at Ipswich in 1997, Hayley Jane Everett and has three children. A self-taught artist and works from a studio at the bottom of the garden in his Ipswich home and is a member of Suffolk Open Studios. Shaun works in oils where his natural tendency towards realism and order is offset with an urge to create contradiction via abstract marks and colour. He takes inspiration from disrupted realism enjoying the interest and movement the style offers him. A member of the Ipswich Art Society, his works are sold online and physical galleries which has led to works being sold to collectors in the UK, Europe, America, and Australia. He signs his pictures 'S Burgess'.
