ADCOCK, Alison
As Alison Caroline Clavier, she was born in Barnet, Middlesex in March 1968, daughter of Anthony James Clavier and his wife Joan Margaret née Biddlecombe, who married in the Samford district of Suffolk in 1966. Alison married in 2002 Graham J. Adcock and paints under the name of Alison Adcock. Alison has been painting for several years during which time her work has become more abstract, although influences from the landscape does sometimes creep in. She is fascinated by colour relationships and latterly has been painting entirely from the imagination, producing mindscapes as opposed to landscapes. Alison works in layers and experiences a push and pull dynamic with the painting until eventually the painting takes on a life of its own. Alison paints primarily in acrylic, mostly because she is able quickly apply multiple layers. With her husband Graham, Alison lives at Felixstowe in Suffolk and is a member of the Colchester Art Society, the Inspired by Becker Art Society and exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 2022. An associate of the Suffolk Open Studios from 25 Bath Road, Felixstowe.
