HOGG, Arthur Stanley Humphreys

1904 - 1983

Arthur Stanley Humphreys Hogg was born at Tendring, Essex on 27 August 1904, son of Arthur James Hogg and his wife Ellen Elizabeth, née Humphreys, who married at Tendring in 1903. In 1911, Arthur was living at 38 Lee Road, Dovercourt, Essex with his 32-year-old mother Ellen and his sister Lillian Helen Humphreys, born Dovercourt in 1908, his father is absent. They were still living at Dovercourt in 1921 when his mother Ellen is noted as a dressmaker 'married but receiving no allowance from her husband'. Arthur married at Tendring in 1929, Mabel Alice née Goodchild (8 March 1906-1965), who was born in Ipswich, and they had one son. In 1939, a baker, living at 62 Shaftesbury Avenue, Harwich, Essex with his wife Mabel and after her death in 1965 he married secondly in 1968 Freda Hart. Arthur Stanley Humphreys Hogg was a proficient artist who died at 39 Beryl Road, Dovercourt, Essex on 7 January 1983.
