Matthew Philip Bellay was born at Needham Market, Suffolk in 1982, second of the two children of Patrick Bellay and his wife Ann Winifred née Phillips, who married at Hackney, London in 1978. His art is inspired by Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), Anthony Green (born 1939), Stefania Tinna Warren, Sean Gallagher (born 1973) and others. He is now a London based marketeer and part-time artist.
