SAYERS, Francis Henry
Francis Henry Sayers was born at Carlton House, Crown Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk on 18 November 1870 and baptised on 25 December 1870, second child of Henry Downing Sayers (1843-8 February 1924), an ice merchant, and his wife Susanna Helen née Browne (1844-1916), who married at St Nicholas with St Paul Church, Great Yarmouth on 9 April 1868. In 1891, Francis was a 20-year-old photographer, living at Carlton House, Crown Road, Great Yarmouth, with his parents 48-year-old Henry and 44-year-old Susanna and eight siblings. Francis was educated at Great Yarmouth Grammar School 1884. An artist & photographer of 61 London Road South, Lowestoft, Suffolk who was declared insolvent on 18 October 1895 and the following year his creditors received a first and final dividend of 4d in the pound. He married at St Nicholas with St Paul Church, Great Yarmouth on 26 March 1898, 27-year-old Margaret Elizabeth Fozzard (1870-24 September 1923) and in 1911, a 40-year-old photographer, living at 7 York Road, Great Yarmouth with his 40-year-old wife Margaret and their four children, Frank Fozzard 12, Mary Marguerite 11, Harry 8 and Kathleen 6, all born at Great Yarmouth. He married secondly at Great Yarmouth in 1931, Doris Elizabeth MacDonald (20 August 1898-1989). In 1939, a photographer, living at 20 Limes Avenue, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire with his wife Doris. Francis Henry Sayers died at Stratford-on-Avon in 1952.
