HORNE, Capt. Michael
Michael Fulwar Horne was born at Beyton, Suffolk on 5 March 1914, only son of Revd Francis Herbert Horne (5 March 1868-10 November 1943), who was born at Drinkstone, Suffolk and his wife Winifred Leila Coventry (11 July 1872-22 December 1952), youngest daughter of Reverend Henry William Coventry, who marred at Severn Stoke, Worcestershire on 14 November 1906. Revd Horne was rector of Beyton 1906-1913 followed by Drinkstone but by 1939 had returned to live at Upton-on-Severn. In 1911, Michael's parents, 43-year-old Francis and 38-year-old Winifred, were living at Beyton Rectory near Bury St Edmund's with their then two children, Henry Frances Coventry 2 and newly born Patience Winifred, both born at Beyton. Michael served as an officer in the parachute regiment during the Second World War and married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk on 12 September 1947, Lavender Amy Glyn (5 February 1922-31 December 1971), daughter of Colonel Arthur St Leger Glyn and his wife Amy Frances Hohler, Lavender had been previously married to Hon. William Richard Christopher Boyle Parker (25 December 1917-14 December 1941). As Capt Michael Horne of Beyton, Suffolk he exhibited two watercolours and an oil painting at the Bury St Edmund's Art Society at the Town Hall in 1947 and exhibited again in 1954 when held at the School of Art Buildings. Michael Fulwar Horne died at 18 Mill Road, Newmarket, Suffolk on 20 October 1979.
