PLANTE, Frank
As Frank Cecil Plant, he was born at Denbigh, Wrexham on 4 October 1907, son of George Henry Plant (14 June 1873-) and his wife Mary Elizabeth (28 September 1872-). In 1911, a 3-year-old scholar, living at 46 Bradley Road, Wrexham, Denbighshire with his parents, 39-year-old George and 39-year-old Mary, with siblings Edith Jane Beatrice 14 and Ernest 13, both born at Denbigh but by 1921 was living at 73 Common Lane, Birmingham with his mother Mary Elizabeth, a married woman. In 1939 his parents were living at 73 Common Lane, Birmingham. Frank married at Birmingham in 1935, Florence Ada Betts (6 April 1912-1941) and in 1939, a copper plate printer, living at 18 Stow Grove, Birmingham with his wife Florence Ada. He added an 'e' to his surname and as Frank Plante, he married secondly at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1947, Yvonne Edith Todd (1924-2011), daughter of Edith Todd. Frank exhibited at the Bury St Edmund's Art Society in 1948 'an attractive river scene in delicate colour'. Frank Cecil Plante died at Bury St Edmund's in 1974 and his widow later married Leonard Perren.
