JONES, Edith Annie

1879 - 1971

Edith Annie Jones was born at Grampound Road, a village in the parish of Ladock, Cornwall on 10 December 1879 and baptised at Creed, Cornwall on 22 January 1880, eldest of the two daughters of Revd George Herbert Daniel Jones (1856-26 October 1922), curate at Creed, and his wife Frances Annie née King, who married at Newmarket, Suffolk in 1878. As Miss E. A. Jones of Hessett, she exhibited several works at the third Suffolk Art and Aid Association exhibition at the Athenaeum, Bury St Edmund's on 28 October 1908. In 1911, Edith was a 31-year-old, living at Hessett Rectory, Bury St Edmund's with her parents, 54-year-old George, rector of Hessett, and 54-year-old Frances Annie. In 1921 she was living at The Rectory, Leverington, Cambridgeshire with her father and her 37-year-old sister Violet Agnes, who was born at Bristol. Edith Annie Jones died at Nynehead Court, Nynehead, Wellington, Somerset on 16 February 1971, she was unmarried.
