PUHLHOFER, Lisa Ann

As Lisa Ann Grant, she married at Hillingdon, London in 1995, Steven V. Puhlhofer, and paints under the name of Lisa Ann Puhlhofer. Lisa was educated at Evelyns Secondary School, Yiewsley, West Drayton 1972-1977 then studied nursing at the University of Hertfordshire and had a 36 year career in nursing, culminating for 19 years as a Nurse Practitioner. A self-taught artist from 2009 and in 2013 she met and studied ink, watercolour, oil and pastel with Tony Merrick (1948-2018) and in 2015 Lisa Ann took semi-retirement to pursue a career in art, proceeding to complete a Diploma in Portraiture at Heatherley School of Fine Art 2015-2017. A portrait and still life painter working in oils but uses most other mediums, she lived and worked in Suffolk where Lisa Ann was a member of the Ipswich Art Society 2018–2021 and and her achievements include the Daphne Todd prize for Portraiture 2016, and in 2018 competed in the Sky TV Arts Portrait Artist of the Year, winning her heat and reaching the semi-finals. Lisa has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 2017 and 2018 and Artist and Illustrators Shortlisted Artists of the Year at the Mall Galleries in London also showing at Art in the Barn at Wingfield Barns and elsewhere and, after a move to Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2021 at The Gallery, Whitehead, Carrickfergus and is a member of the Ulster Society of Women Artists.
