Ria Crosbie started painting a couple of years after her son started school when she was not in full-time work, although working voluntary in a pre-school nursery. Ria, who is self-taught, purchased some acrylic paints and commenced painting, wishing to learn the art of watercolour she joined a small watercolour class and now paints in watercolour although still dabbling with oils. Ria prefers to paint from nature, especially autumn with all the colours that go with this season. Moving to a rural village in West Suffolk from where she finds most of her inspiration with her work ranging from busy pictures to the plain and simple, sometimes painting abstract, patterns and shapes. A practising artist with the main use of her art for Greeting Cards, painting in watercolour but some acrylic, pencil drawings, oils, and lino printing. A full member of Suffolk Open Studios from her studio at Roselen, The Street, Lawshall, near Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk.
