Jane Bannon

As Jane A. Gates, she was born at North Walsham, Norfolk in 1965, only child of John Gates and his wife Christine H. née Howe, who married in Norfolk in 1964. Art has always played an important part in Jane's life and, after a career in insurance, she decided to devote herself to full-time to painting. Jane married at Maidstone, Kent in 1999, Timothy John Bannon and paints under the name of Jane Bannon. Jane is a self-taught artist, specialising in watercolours of farmyard and domestic animals. Jane and her husband Timothy, now live in a listed cottage on the Flixton Road, Bungay on the Suffolk/Norfolk border and the cows that live in the fields opposite her home, provide an excellent source of inspiration, as does the local dogs which she sees on her daily walks with her own dogs. She has recently moved more heavily into the greetings card market and is a member of the Greetings Card Association (GCA). There are a wide range of illustrations from hares to farmyard, wildlife, and a range of dog breeds. Her prints, cards, box canvasses etc., are stocked by several shops including in and around Bungay and Beccles and elsewhere or from the websites.
