ALLEN, Madeline

1880 - 1934

Madeline Allen, was born at 8 Shenley Road, Camberwell, London in 1880, daughter of George Biffen Allen (1852-15 November 1925), law stationer, and his wife Eliza Ann née Felgate, who married at Ipswich 1876. In 1881, a newly born, living at Shenley Road, Camberwell with her parents, 29 year old George and 28 year old Eliza, who was born at Ipswich. In 1891, they were visitors at Warwick Road, Ipswich, the home of 48 year old widow Jane M. Hammond. Madeline studied at the Ipswich School of Art and won 3rd prize in the 'Shading Ornament from the Cast (Advanced) in February 1900. Madeline married at Ipswich in 1907, Thomas Wilfred Field (1880-12 May 1854) and in 1911 they were living at 67 Palgrave Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk where Thomas was a 31 year old commercial traveller, with their 2 year old daughter Margaret Isabel, born at Great Yarmouth. Madeline died at Hill House, Manningtree, Essex on 19 November 1934.
