JONES, Fred Tebbot
Fred Tebbot Jones was born at Sheffield, Yorkshire on 25 June 1871 and baptised at St Thomas, Crookes, Sheffield on 13 August 1871, second child and eldest son of Joseph Jones, a journeyman joiner, and his wife Sarah née Tebbot, who married at Kettering, Northamptonshire in 1866. In 1881, Fred was a 9-year-old schoolboy, living at 82 Asline Road, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire with his parents, 40-year-old Joseph and 38-year-old Sarah, with siblings Alice Elizabeth 11 and Percy Fyson 7, both born at Sheffield. Fred married at Chesterfield Registry Office in 1899, Emma Boldry (21 September 1870-1951) and they came to live at Ipswich. In 1901, Fred was a 29-year-old Board schoolteacher, living at 70 Belle View Road, Ipswich with his 30-year-old wife Emma who was born at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Fred studied at Ipswich School of Art passing his examinations in modelling design in 1909 and in 1911 he was living at 43 Corder Road, Ipswich with his wife and their two children, Cecil Edward (25 September 1903-27 March 1974) and Kathleen May (14 May 1907-3 April 1971). In 1919, Fred registered with the Teachers' Registration Council stating that he had been a teacher since 1890. In 1937 he exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club, from 43 Corder Road, two paintings 'The Maltings Yard, Fore Street' and 'Tower Ramparts, Ipswich' In 1939, a retired schoolteacher, living at 43 Corder Road, Ipswich with his wife Emma, and their daughter Kathleen, a schoolteacher. Fred Tebbot Jones died at 43 Corder Road, Ipswich on 10 February 1943.
