WILSON, Bayley
Bayley Wilson was born at Colney, Norwich on 5 May 1887, son of John Strange Wilson (1848-9 November 1938), a farmer of Wrentham, Suffolk, and his wife Bessie [Elizabeth] Makens (4 October 1848-13 May 1947), fourth daughter of Robert Makens, of Ringshall, Suffolk who married at Ringshall Church on 22 March 1880. In 1891, Bayley was a 3-year-old, living at Hingham Turnpike, Henstead, Norfolk with his father, 42-year-old John and siblings Bessie 10 and Gardene 8, both born at Aperton Park, Harrow, Middlesex. By 1911, Bayley was a 23-year-old farmer's son, living at Colney Old Hall, Norwich, Norfolk with his father John Strange Wilson and siblings Bessie 30, Kate 27, Hugh 25 and Marianne 19. Bayley married at Kirby Bedon St Andrew, Norfolk on 24 September 1924, Constance Emily Mitchell (12 January 1891-9 December 1972), daughter of William Mitchell, a farmer. As B. Wilson, he exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1933 from Colney Old Hall, Norwich, a watercolour 'The Walk'. In 1939, a dairy farmer, living at Hall Farm, Colney, Norwich with his wife Constance. Bayley Wilson died at Colney Old Hall, Norwich in 1976. He was sometimes known at Bailey Wilson.
