SPALDING, Wilfred Charles
Wilfred Charles Spalding was born at 54 Long Street, Ipswich on 31 March 1900 and baptised at St Clement's Church, Ipswich on 27 May 1900, son of William Henry Spalding (1875-1925), a stone mason, and his wife Lilian née Fiske (5 March 1876-17 May 1961), who married at Beccles, Suffolk on 21 June 1896. In 1911, Wilfred was an 11-year-old schoolboy, living at 57 Roseberry Road, Ipswich with his parents, 36-year-old William and 35-year-old Lilian, both born at Beccles, and siblings Stanley Harold 13, Herbert Henry 9 and Lilian Irene 7. Wilfred married at Ipswich in 1929, Harriet Miller (14 March 1901-2004) and exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1933 from Roseberry Road, Ipswich, an oil 'The Orwell from Gainsborough Lane'. In 1939, a manager for a road roller manufacturer, living at 99 Walton Gardens, Grantham, Lincolnshire with his wife Harriet and two children. Wilfred Charles Spalding died at 99 Walton Gardens, Grantham on 23 June 1969.
