HEDGES-QUINN, Sean
Sean Thomas Hedges-Quinn was born at Ipswich in April 1968, son of Patrick Joseph Quinn (9 April 1940-2001) and his wife Sheila Lilian née Hedges (2 May 1942-12 March 2010), who married in London in 1963 and assumed the name Hedges-Quinn. Sean graduated from the University of Hertfordshire, afterwards worked in the film industry as a model-maker, prop-master, and sculptor. His first role was as a prop-maker on ‘The Borrowers’ in 1996, before he was taken on by Jim Henson's creature shop in London. He has worked for films such as the 1997 version of ‘Lost in Space’, ‘Reign of Fire’, ‘The Hours’, ‘V for Vendetta’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘12 Monkeys’ and as senior prosthetic technician on ‘Clash of the Titans’. He has been commissioned to produce statues for several notable footballers including Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey, which are both at Portman Road Football Ground, Ipswich, also Ted Bates, Bob Stokoe, and Nat Lofthouse. In 2010 his statue of Dad's Army's Captain Mainwaring was unveiled in Thetford, Norfolk. Hedges-Quinn married at Ipswich in 1997, Hayley Jeanette Groom and works from a studio at Great Bricett, near Ipswich, Suffolk.
