NOY, Kate Rebecca

1864 - 1901

Kate Rebecca Noy was born at Ipswich in 1864 and baptised at St Clements Church, Ipswich on 30 July 1865, daughter of Isaac Noy (1832-13 September 1906), a shipbroker, and his wife Louisa née Boston (1830-1903), who married at Ipswich in 1861. In 1881, Kate was a 16-year-old pupil teacher, living at 49 Key Street, Ipswich with her parents, Isaac 49 and Louisa 51, with three sibling sisters, Louisa Matthews 18, Alice Henrietta 14 and Laura Gertrude Boston 11, all born at Ipswich. Kate studied at Ipswich School of Science & Art and in 1880 gained her certificate in freehand drawing. She married at Ipswich in 1888, Josiah Sortan Richardson (1859-19 April 1904) and in 1891, a 26-year-old, living at Delvins House, East End Road, Fulham, London with her 31-year-old husband Josiah, a commercial clerk, this was the home of her father-in-law, 56-year-old Josiah Richardson, a bank manager, and his family. Kate Rebecca Richardson died at 703 Fulham Road, London in 1901, aged 37.
