In 1861, William was a 23-year-old, described as an 'artist, landscape & cattle', was living at West Street, Sneinton, Radford, Nottinghamshire, his position is described as an unmarried son-in-law with the family of William Richards including a 28-year-old Sarah E. Turner, described as daughter-in-law. William married at St Stephen's Church, Sneinton on 20 March 1864, Mary Jane, sometimes Jane Mary, Robinson and in 1871, a 32-year-old 'animal portrait painter', living at Upper Ebdon Street, Sneinton with his 30-year-old wife Jane Mary, a 4-year-old son George William and a 2-year-old daughter Emily Jane, both born at Sneinton. William Eddowes Turner died at Radford, Nottinghamshire on 1 December 1904, aged 65 and Adela died in 1906, aged 68. I have found no marriage for William and Adela and in each census their ages vary by at least five years, but William's birth date is correct in 1836.
