BRAMBLE, Forbes
Forbes J. Bramble was born at Hornchurch, Essex on 11 April 1939, his mother's maiden name was Jackson. An author and artist, his play 'The Dice' was first performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1960 together with his 'The Two-Timers', both debut plays by the then 21-year-old student Forbes Bramble. 'The Dice' was televised and produced by a wide number of groups around the world and 'The Two-Timers' was the main Festival production for Dokumenta 1963-1964 in Kassel, Germany. Bramble followed with a Granada Television 'Play for Today' with his 'When Silver Drinks'. Forbes studied for his Bachelor of Arts and is a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and, as an architect with a practice in London, Bramble gave up writing for some time to concentrate on running his practice but latterly returned to writing, but this time novels and he is the author of some eight published novels. He married at Midhurst, Sussex in 1964, Anna R. Owen and they moved from London to Linstead Parva, Suffolk from where he exhibited at the Westhall Secret Postcard Auction in 2013 a watercolour 'Rectory Lane, Halesworth'.
