COLE, Frederick Arthur
Frederick Arthur Cole was born at 8 Brooks Hall Road, Ipswich on 18 December 1901, son of Harry Cole (1852-) and his wife Elizabeth (1860-). In 1911, Frederick was a 9-year-old, living at 8 Brooks Hall Road, Ipswich with his parents, 59-year-old Harry, a jobbing gardener, and 54-year-old Elizabeth, who was born at Saxmundham, Suffolk with five siblings, Gertrude [Moules] 24, born at Newcastle, Dora 16, Charlie 14 and Hilda 10, all born at Ipswich, but by 1921 the family had moved to 30 St Georges Street, Ipswich when Frederick was an out of work fitter. Frederick married at Ipswich in 1930, Dorothy Geraldine Godbold (9 September 1903-15 February 1996) and in 1939, Frederick was a lorry drivers' mate, living at 2 High View Road, Ipswich with his wife and family. As F. A. Cole, he exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1944, a 'Flower Study'. Frederick Arthur Cole died at his home, 43 High View Road, Ipswich on 20 December 1978.
