COWLES, Reginald
Reginald Sidney Cowles was born at Ipswich in 1924, son of Robert Alfred Cowles (1 January 1895-30 September 1963), a cinema commissionaire, and his wife Maude Alice née Pulham (23 December 1888-22 April 1978), who married at Ipswich in 1915. As R. S. Cowles he exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1943, an oil painting 'Red Ribbon'. As a schoolmaster living at 119 Sidegate Lane, Ipswich, in 1948 he emigrated to Mauritius, sailing to Cape Town, South Africa. Reginald Sidney Cowles was of 41 Old Street, Upton-upon-Severn, Worcestershire and died on 12 October 1981.
