CLINCH, Violet
As Violet Bailey, she was born at Camberwell, London on 25 January 1911, daughter of Harry Bailey, a labourer, and his wife Clara. In 1911, a newly born, living at 16 Heymerle Road, Peckham, Camberwell with her parents, 45-year-old Harry and 45-year-old Clara, with siblings George 22, Ethel 19, Frank 15, Lily 13, William 11 and Kathleen 3, all born at Camberwell. Violet married at Camberwell in 1932, Charles William Clinch (26 January 1908-1990), a motor driver, and in 1939 they were living at 31 Ossory Road, Camberwell. As Mrs Violet Clinch, she exhibited two oils at the Ipswich Art Club in 1943 a portrait 'Our Traveller' and a child study 'Sweet Idleness'. Violet Clinch died at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1990.
