BUMSTEAD, Kenneth

1911 - 1975

Kenneth Bumstead was born at Bramford, Ipswich on 5 May 1911, son of Henry Robert Bumstead (12 December 1882-7 January 1960) and his wife Maud Alice née Smith (22 January 1886-1950), who married at Bosmere, Suffolk in 1907 and in 1921 were living at Gipping Cottage, Bramford, Suffolk with his parents and an older sibling brother Robert 13. In 1939, Kenneth was a period furniture designer & photographer, still living at 1 Gipping Cottages, Sproughton Road, Ipswich with his mother Maud. Kenneth, who later became a schoolteacher, exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1943, two oils 'Near the Old Paper Mill' and 'In the Gipping Valley Bramford'. Kenneth Bumstead died at his home at Blue Barn, Hillcrest Approach, Bramford, near Ipswich on 12 November 1975, he was unmarried.
