DYER, Juliet

1933 - 2015

As Juliet Ann Cheadle, she was born at 10 Roundwood Road, Ipswich in 1933, daughter of William Herbert Cheadle (16 February 1894-3 July 1964), an accounts clerk, and his wife Ruth née Sadler (27 October 1900-29 September 1983), who married at Croydon, Surrey in 1926 and in 1939, were living at 163 Valley Road, Ipswich. Juliet married at Ipswich in 1956, Robert Fred Dyer (born 21 June 1932). A painter and a sculptor for domestic gardens, who worked in clay to create the most remarkable shapes. An exhibitor of paintings or sculpture/ceramics at the Faringdon Art Society exhibitions for many years but resigned in 2010. Juliet’s work has always been original and well executed and in recognition of her contribution to the society over the years, the committee voted unanimously to make Juliet an Honorary Member. Also, a member of the Oxfordshire Sculpture Group for some 20 years until her death and where she exhibited regularly. She also exhibited at the Vale and Downland Museum, Wantage 1990-1992. Juliet Ann Dyer lived at Standfast House, Faringdon Road, Abingdon, Oxfordshire where she died on 30 January 2015, being survived by her husband.
