UNGLESS, Henry Robert

1826 - 1902

Henry Robert Ungless, was born in London on 17 July and baptised at All Souls, Marylebone, London on 6 August 1826, son of Robert Carpenter Ungless and his wife Rosamund. Henry married at Ipswich in 1847, Mary Anne Jacobs and in 1861, a 34 year old 'photographist', living at Greenman School Yard, Foundation Street, Ipswich with his 34 year old wife Mary Anne and their five children, Eliza 13, Sarah 11, Harry 8, William 5 and Harriett 1, all born at Ipswich. In 1871, an 'artist', still living at Foundation Street, Ipswich with the addition of two more children Annie 7 and Robert 4 and in 1881 describes himself at 'artist in crayons' at the same address but by 1891 was a widower and 'club steward' living at the Conservative Club, Church Lane, St Stephen, Ipswich with his daughter Eliza as an assistant. He died at Ipswich on 2 May 1902, aged 75.
