PRATT, Helen Roza
Helen Roza Pratt was born at Mildenhall, Suffolk on 1 July 1871, daughter of James Pratt (born 15 December 1836), a farmer, and his wife Sarah née Seaber (1841-1901), who married at Mildenhall in 1863. In 1891, Helen was a 19-year-old artist sculptor, living at Bargate House, Pratt's Lane, Mildenhall with her parents, 54-year-old James and 50-year-old Sarah, with siblings Lancelot Wilfred 10, Francis Gerald 9 and Hebe 7, all born at Mildenhall. In 1921 she was living at Merton Cottage, Queen's Road, Cambridge with her 55-year-old unmarried sister Evelyn Annie and in 1926 was living at The Cottage, Cliff Avenue, Cromer, Norfolk moving to the adjoining town of Sheringham in 1931. Before the start of the Second World War, she seems to have travelled to both the USA and to Canada but in 1939, 'of independent means', living at Wilmer, South Street, Sheringham, Norfolk with a servant. Helen Roza Pratt died at Dowing Court Nursing Home, Sheringham, Norfolk on 5 February 1961, she was unmarried. Her name is sometimes given as Helen Rosa.
