NORMAN-CROSSE, George Samuel

1871 - 1912

As George Samuel Norman, he was born at 2 Jubilee Cottages, South Hackney, London on 27 May 1871, son of George Parsons Norman later Parsons-Norman, a solicitor's clerk, and his wife Eleanor née Clark (c1846-20 April 1915), who married at Hackney, London in 1865, his sister was Pattie Eleanor Norman. Around 1878 the family moved to Lowestoft, Suffolk and in 1881, George was a 9-year-old, living at 2 Burton Street, Lowestoft with his parents, 39-year-old George, an artist and his 34-year-old wife Eleanor and sibling sister Pattie Eleanor 14 and in 1891 the family were living at St Margarets Terrace, 1 Church Road, Lowestoft. George was of Middlesbrough and had added the addition name of Crosse by the time of his marriage at Kensington, London on 11 September 1900, to Winnifred Alice Norman-Crosse née Bray and in 1901, they were living at 44 Hartington Road, Stockton-upon-Tees, Durham but by 1908 had returned to Suffolk, living at Butten Haugh, Ashfield Green, Elmswell, near Bury St Edmund's. George Samuel Norman-Crosse was of 81 City Road, Lakenham, Norwich, Norfolk, where his parents and sister were living, when he died in 1912, aged 41 and buried at Trowse, Norfolk on 5 November 1912.
