POTTER, Annie Marion

1879 - 1968

Annie Marion Potter was born in Derbyshire on 16 March 1879 and baptised at Darley Dale on 18 May 1879, youngest child of Charles Potter, a coach builder & wheelwright, and his wife Catherine. In 1891, Annie was a 10-year-old, living at Mill House, Darley Bridge, Bakewell, Derbyshire with her parents, 60-year-old Charles and 51-year-old Catherine, with siblings John Allen 28, Kate 27, George 23, Charles Herbert 21, Henriette Elizabeth Margaret 19 and Frederic 16, who were all born in Derbyshire. She may have gone to Victoria, Australia where in 1913 Annie Marion Potter was appointed an Assistant Art Instructor but in 1939, Annie was a 'miniature painter' living at Green Hedges, Gipping, Suffolk with her unmarried elder sister Kate Potter (24 August 1862-1957). Annie Marion Potter died at 11 Glenleigh Gardens, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex on 2 January 1968, she was unmarried.
