BEDFORD, Richard Donisthorpe
Richard Donisthorpe E. Bedford was born at Hampstead, London on 31 December 1918, son of Richard Perry Bedford (15 November 1883-3 October 1967), keeper of sculpture at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and his first wife Ethel Pearl née Donisthorpe (10 June 1880-12 September 1964), who married at Paddington, London in 1914, his father was to become Curator of Pictures at the Ministry of Works 1947-1948. In 1939, Richard was an unmarried 'artist', living at The Cottage, The Warren, Leiston-cum-Sizewell, Suffolk with his mother Ethel and his sister Betty (born 6 June 1916), who married in 1941 Axel Dahl. Richard Donisthorpe E. Bedford died at Canterbury, Kent in 1986.
