SLAGG, Margaret Jenny
Margaret Jenny Slagg was born at Staines, Middlesex on 20 May 1899, daughter of William Crichton Slagg (5 May 1867-6 May 1943), a barrister-at-law, and his wife Violet Louisa Clare Russell (12 March 1868-2 February 1955), second daughter of John Russell of The Lodge, Halliford-on-Thames, who married at Shepperton Church, Middlesex on 6 September 1894. In 1911, Margaret was an 11-year-old, living at The Willows, Halliford, Shepperton with her parents, 43-year-old William and 43-year-old Violet, with two siblings Violet Helen 13 and John Edward 5, and they retained four indoor servants. In 1939, 'an artist', living at Tendring Hall, Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk. She married at Chelsea, London in 1945, Alexander Fitzgerald Ramsay (29 November 1880-18 May 1962), an army officer, son of Brig Gen William Alexander Ramsay and Susan Newcombe née Minchener. Margaret Jenny Ramsay died at Speedwell Cottage, Flimwell, Wadhurst, East Sussex on 10 June 1980.
