GIRLING, Percy Leonard
Percy Leonard Girling was born at Southwold, Suffolk on 15 January 1904, youngest child of William Girling (14 August 1866-1949), a licensed victualler, and his wife Sophia Edwards née Blogg (21 September 1864-1950), who married at Wangford, Suffolk in 1886. In 1911, Percy was a 6-year-old, living at the 'Marquis of Lorne', 2 High Street, Southwold with his parents, 44-year-old William and 46-year-old Sophia, with siblings Bertie 23, Maud 22, Sydney 13 and Regie 9. In 1939, a 'black & white general artist', living at 9 North Green, Southwold with his parents William, an innkeeper, and Sophia, a pensioner. An artist who was a postcard designer. Percy Leonard Girling died in Southwold, Suffolk in 1977, he was unmarried.
