DENNY, Charles
Charles Denny was baptised at Blaxhall, Suffolk on 15 March 1835, son of Eliza Denny. In 1851, a 16-year-old artist, living at The Street, Glemham Parva, Suffolk with his 41-year-old unmarried aunt Jemima Denny, a dressmaker. Charles married at Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1860, Mary Martha Griffith, and in 1861, a schoolmaster, living at the National School, Blaxhall Road, Tunstall, Suffolk with his 27-year-old wife Mary, a schoolmistress, who was born in London. After which he seems to have travelled around, but by 1881 was back in Suffolk living at Street Road, Dennington, a 46-year-old certified schoolteacher, with his wife Mary and children Mary Alexandra 17, who was born at Broxted Essex, Charlotte Elizabeth 15, who was born at Radwinter, Essex, Frederick Griffith 12, George Campwell 9 and Bessie Henrietta 6, all three born at Brockham, Surrey and they were still living at Dennington in 1891. Charles Denny died at Witnesham, Ipswich on 24 June 1895, aged 60, leaving a widow.
