LYNN, Susanna Stewart
Susanna Stewart Lynn was baptised at Woodbridge St Mary church, Suffolk on 26 September 1810, daughter of Dr George Doughty Lynn (1779-11 May 1854), a surgeon, and his wife Susannah Stewart née Abbott (1784-28 July 1836), who married at Barking, Suffolk on 16 May 1805. In 1836, as Miss Lynn of Woodbridge, an art pupil of Henry Bright. She married at Woodbridge the following year on 2 May 1837, James Cockburn (31 May 1810-24 May 1888) of Arch Cliff Fort, Dover, later a major-general in the 39th Cameron Highlanders. Susanna Stewart Cockburn died at Bracondale, Lakenham, Norwich, Norfolk on 31 May 1887 and her husband died on the 24 May the following year, leaving a son Col. James George Cockburn, who was one of nine children.
