THELLUSSON, Eliza Charlotte
As Eliza Charlotte Prescott, she was born on 7 March 1807 and baptised at Saint Mary, Marylebone, London on 2 June 1807, daughter of Sir George Beeston Prescott (11 February 1775–25 October 1850), 2nd Bart, of Theobald's Park, Hertfordshire, and his wife Catherine Creighton Mills (30 April 1784-6 April 1832), who married at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire on 20 August 1799. Eliza married at the British Embassy in Paris on 22 December 1827, Sir James Frederick Duff of Kinstair (24 January 1804-10 February 1837) and secondly at St George, Hanover Square, London on 5 June 1838, Frederick Thellusson, 4th Lord Rendlesham (6 January 1798-6 April 1852) and was the mother of Eliza Georgiana Tollemache; Louisa Brooke; Alfred Alexander Duff; Major James Duff and, Frederick William Brook Thellusson, later 5th Baron Rendlesham, and Anne Blanche Thellusson (died 26 March 1886). As Lady Rendlesham she studied art under Henry Bright in London around 1838-1840. Eliza Charlotte Thellusson died on 31 December 1840. Lord Rendlesham survived her by twelve years and died on 6 April 1852, aged 54, being succeeded by their only son, Frederick.
