CRITOPH, Carol

1950 - ?

As Carol Ann Owen, she was born at Norwich in 1950. She married at Lowestoft, Suffolk in 1972, Graham Charles Critoph and paints under the name of Carol Critoph. A self-taught artist, Carol has been interested in drawing from a small child, but it was not until she was in her 40s, that she experimented more with colour but, dissatisfied with the results of paint, she switched to the pastel medium but continues experimenting and paints in pastels, loving the challenge of capturing a likeness with children and animals as her subject matter, which has made her a much sought after artist for family and pet commissions. Carol has lived by the sea most of her life and currently resides on the east coast with her husband and regularly exhibits in galleries throughout East Anglia including the Southwold Gallery. Carol donated one of her pastel paintings of Pakefield Beach to be raffled for the benefit of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH).
