Justin David Rumsby was born at Ipswich in 1973, son of Melvyn D. Rumsby and his wife Evelyn J. née Smith, who married at Ipswich in 1972. Justin came into art after completing an 8-week print-making course and progressing his painting skills with acrylics and mastering brush stroke techniques, using pallet knives to produce differing effects and developing his painting skills in a collaboration with Paul Fisk, an Ipswich poet, mixed media artist, curator, and artistic mentor. A registered blind artist and works out of the Atrium Studios at University Campus Suffolk in Ipswich and lives at Brunswick Road, Ipswich.
