DORAN, Redmond
Redmond Doran was born in Ireland around 1819. In 1851, a 30-year-old decorative artist living at Street Mill Common, Somerleyton, Suffolk with his 30-year-old wife Bridget and 10-year-old daughter Jane, also both born in Ireland. An artist for the Lowestoft China Factory before he went to London where he was advertising in 1862 'painting, decorating & gilding, imitation marbles and mural ornamentation' from 6 Milton Street, Dorset Square, London and did work at both Buckingham Palace and Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. By 1865 he had moved to 15 Greek Street, Soho Square, London. Redmond Doran died at 2 Tranquilla Terrace, Fulham Road, Hammersmith, London on 21 May 1880, aged 61.
