CRUSO, Louisa Mabel
Louisa Mabel Cruso was born at Bramford Vicarage, Ipswich, on 10 June 1869 and baptised on 22 June 1869, eldest child and only daughter of the two children of Henry Edmund Tilsley Cruso, vicar of Bramford, and his wife Frances Mary Oke née Alford, who married at Canterbury Cathedral, Kent on 12 February 1867. Louisa exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from Bramford Vicarage in 1893 two paintings, 'At Walsham on the Wold' and 'The Breithorn, from near Murren' and in 1896, from Tunstall Rectory, Kent two further pictures. Her mother died at Tunstall in 1904 and in 1911, Louisa was a 41-year-old, living at Tunstall Rectory with her 68-year-old widowed father with four indoor servants. In 1939, single and living on 'own means' at Broad Street, Alresford, Hampshire. Louisa Mabel Cruso died at The Grange Hotel, Templewood Lane, Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire on 17 October 1949, aged 79, she was unmarried.
