CLUBBE, Fanny
As Frances Swatman, she was baptised at Little Fransham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk on 14 July 1821, daughter of Revd Edward Swatman (1 June 1777-24 December 1839) and his wife Mary née Sharpin (1786-1844), who married at Little Fransham on 10 December 1810. As Fanny Swatman, she married at Beccles, Suffolk on 9 July 1851, William Henchman Clubbe (1826-4 August 1889), a surgeon, and in 1861 they were living at Grove House, 60 London Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, and they were still there 20 years later. As Mrs W. H. Clubbe, she exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from Lowestoft, Suffolk in 1883, two painting 'Hollyhocks' and 'Honeysuckle'. On her husband's death in 1889, she was living at Old Nelson Street, Lowestoft. Frances Clubbe died at her home at 9 Wellington Esplanade, Lowestoft on 31 August 1897 and buried in Lowestoft Cemetery on 2 September 1897, aged 76.
